Skibbereen Search

Cork West Civil Defence was tasked on 26th January by the Garda divisional search manager to assist in the search operation for a missing person in the Skibbereen area. 

The search area was focused on the southern side of the Ilen River between Kennedy Bridge and New Bridge in Skibbereen, as well as Inishbeg Island in the river estuary. 

Cork West search response teams and boat crew, along with drone teams from Cork West and Cork South completed various taskings in the designated search areas, and were coordinated from the unit communications vehicle on site.
