Sligo Annual Exercise 2016

Sligo Civil Defence held its annual exercise on 4^th September  which was attended by 46 volunteers. Civil Defence Branch , Principal Officer, Stephen Hall  and Director of Services, Bartley Gavin attended the exercise. Volunteers were put through their paces on 4 sites – Casualty, Search, Communications and a Radiation Monitoring and Sample Collection site.

There were also 2 workshops during the course of the day:

1. Life jacket use / how it works and how to fit / wear it with a practical session for all team members
2. Fall arrest and casualty handling demonstration and interaction from all team members this was based on new CPG issued in 2014.

The day was followed by dinner and certificate presentations and both Stephen Hall and Bartley Gavin thanked all volunteers for their commitment to the organisation and their attendance at training.
