Sligo Presentation Night – 2014

Sligo Civil Defence held their annual presentation night on April 22nd.

At the presentation:

• CFR,
• OFA,
• EFR,
• Severe weather driving,
• Patient Handling / Manual Handling certificates were presented.

At the same time Long service medals were presented to

• Caroline Melia (20 years)
• Jarlath Neary (20 years)
• Della Lindsay (20 years)
• Dolores Davey (10 years).

Director of Service for emergency services Dorothy Clarke was unable to attend on the night but did send a message to thank all the volunteers for their dedication and commitment to providing a very valuable service to the Local Authority and the community. Bartley Gavin who will be the new Director of Service for Civil Defence from June onwards and who is the Chairperson for the upcoming Fleadh attended and was impressed with the amount of work carried out by the volunteers which was evident in the nights presentation and he was on hand to present both the certificates and the long service medals. He said he was looking forward to working alongside Civil Defence during the Fleadh and thanked all in advance for their assistance.
