Tipperary Search & Rescue
10 October 2017
Tipperary Civil Defence were requested by Gardai to assist in the search for a missing person in the Arra Mountains area of Tipperary shortly after 10pm Sunday night. The man became disorientated while searching for cattle. Following a search of the immediate area the man was located suffering from mild hypothermia but otherwise unhurt. He was assessed at the scene by Civil Defence EMT’s and take to UHL as a precaution by the Ambulance Service. The search involved Tipperary Civil Defence Ground crews and Dog Unit, Killaloe Coast Guard, Rescue 115 from Shannon & Gardai. A search dog was also on route from SEMRA. Thanks to all volunteers involved and for such a quick response, another example of great inter agency work.
