20 August 2015
5,000 cyclists will be taking part in this weekend’s Séan Kelly Tour of Waterford. This is one of the country’s major cycling events. Waterford Civil Defence will have 30 highly trained volunteers on duty with five ambulances providing casualty cover. We will be making use of our extensive communications network to monitor the cyclists during the event which features 4 different cycles ranging from 12 km to 160 km. Civil Defence will be working closely with the Red Cross and the Order of Malta who will also be providing casualty cover over the weekend.
