Wexford Civil Defence Inter Agency Training Day & CDO Retirement Function

Wexford Civil Defence hosted an Inter-Agency training day at County Hall, Carricklawn on Saturday 24^th September. The day consisted of presentations and practical demonstrations from a number of voluntary agencies followed by a dinner in the Riverbank Hotel.

Following dinner a presentation was made to Gabrielle Willis to mark her retirement from her position as Wexford Civil Defence Officer. Minister with responsibility for Defence, Paul Kehoe and Civil Defence Branch Principal Officer, Stephen Hall attended the function.

On the occasion of her retirement as Civil Defence Officer, the Department of Defence wishes to acknowledge the fine service given by Gabrielle Willis to Civil Defence over many years. Gabrielle was appointed as Wexford Civil Defence Officer in 1987. Prior to her appointment as CDO, Gabrielle gave many years of service as a Civil Defence volunteer.  She also served two terms on the former Civil Defence Board. Gabrielle was a very popular and much respected member of the organisation. We wish her a long, enjoyable and very well earned retirement.
